AMISYS Memberships: Membership Archiving includes a flexible method of archiving contract and member spans from the AMISYS Advance system based on a specific time frame.

Learn More About Membership Archiving

“Historical data doesn’t just impact our batch run performance, we use a full copy of production for testing.  Reducing production database space impacts all of our testing time.”
Much of the data in a health plan system revolves around the membership data.  When a health plan has a very large enrollee population all of the surrounding data grows exponentially.  As more members are added the number of claims processed increases along with the size of the provider network, authorizations, billing invoices and cash receipts.

Designed by DST and built by Taurus Software, Membership Archiving uses Taurus’ DataBridger product to provide a flexible method of archiving contract and member spans to an archive database from the AMISYS Advance  system.

With the Membership Archiving, users are able to specify specific archive parameters such as:

  • Prior to Date (Archive prior to this date).
  • Limit archives to include only terminated contracts or voided spans.
  • Run archive in report mode to pre-view what will be archived.
  • Check for open authorizations, receipts or invoices before archiving.

Membership Archiving removes all related records from production without leaving any orphaned records. Archiving may be interrupted and restarted if needed.

Reports:

The Membership archiving process include a series of reports that can be used to analyze the data that was extracted and allow the health plan to audit the results. Archives can be run in report mode prior to actually deleting the records from the production account. If the data reported does not look correct, the process can be stopped and evaluated prior to running the job in update mode.

ClaimsIconAMISYS Claims / Authorizations: Claims archiving will archive claims and authorizations to an archive database. Data associated with claims processing can overload your systems and significantly impact performance, making it an excellent candidate for archiving.

Learn More About Claims / Authorizations Archiving

“We had to de-archive claims to run our 1099s, the new de-archive process allowed us to bring those claims back for the affected state’s claims.”
Data associated with claims processing is a good candidate for data archival. If the size of a production table gets too large there will be a distinct impact to retrieval time. Most of the core system screens include limits on the number of records the screen will retrieve and display. When tables are large, screens will not display all of the applicable data and some screens will not function.
Designed by DST and built by Taurus Software, Claims Archiving uses Taurus’s DataBridger product to archive claims and authorizations to an archive database.

How it works:

With the Claims Archiving process users can archive and delete claims that have been paid in their entirety on or before a user input cut-off paid date. Records may be selected for archival based by claim type as well.  The archiving process will process claim service, authorization, episode, and related data. The archived records will be written to an archival database and deleted from the production database.  The archive process may be started and stopped and may be broken into several parallel data loads to ensure fast archive performance.

Reports:

The claims and authorization archiving process includes a series of reports that are generated when the job is run. These reports can be used to analyze the data that was extracted and allow the health plan to audit the results. This can be done in report mode prior to actually deleting the records from the production account. If the data reported does not look correct, the process can be stopped and evaluated prior to running the job in update mode.

BenefitsIcon2AMISYS Benefits: This benefit archiving process archives and restores benefit spans from the AMISYS Advance system based on a specific time frame. Benefit span data is archived and demographic information is copied to the archive (Oracle) database and also retained in the production environment. Subsequent archives update archived demographic data with changes from production.

Learn More About Benefits Archiving

“Our benefit packages are changing constantly, slowing our performance, now we move our completed spans to archives and can retrieve them later if need be.”
An area of concern for health plan software is the number of benefit packages that are offered by a health plan. As the health care industry continues to evolve, health plans naturally develop new benefit designs to meet the ever-changing demands. However, since the trends are often cyclical, the health plan will naturally want to retain copies of the configured, but outdated benefit packages.
Designed by DST and built by Taurus Software, Benefits Archiving uses Taurus’s DataBridger product to archive and restore benefit spans from the AMISYS Advance system based on a specific time frame.

How it works:

Benefit span data is archived, and deleted from production and demographic information is copied to the archive (Oracle) database and also retained in the production environment. At least one span record will be retained in the production environment. Records are archived based on a cutoff date and the archive process maybe started and stopped if desired.

Reports:

The benefit archiving process includes a series of reports that can be used to analyze the data that was extracted and allow the health plan to audit the results.

ProvidersIconAMISYS Providers: This provider archiving process archives and restores provider affiliations from the AMISYS Advance system based on a specific time frame. Provider span data is archived and demographic information is copied to the archive (Oracle) database and also retained in the production environment.

Learn More About Provider/Affiliations Archiving

“Amisys’ prior archive process only archived voided spans, and we need to archive inactive as well – this capability is now available.”
Provider/Affiliations archiving process archives and restores provider affiliation spans from the AMISYS system based on a specific time frame. Provider span data is archived and demographic information is copied to the archive (Oracle) database and also retained in the production environment
Designed by DST and built by Taurus Software, Provider/Affiliations Archiving uses Taurus’s DataBridger product to archive and restore provider affiliation spans from the AMISYS Advance system based on a specific time frame.

How it works:

Provider span data is archived and demographic information is copied to the archive (Oracle) database and also retained in the production environment. At least one span record will be retained in the production environment.

  • Provider spans will not be archived for unpaid claims.
  • An option is available to archive terminated providers or only voided spans.
  • Provider spans that fall before a “prior to date” provided by the user will be archived.
  • Continuous spans that cross over an archive “prior to date” where the effective date is prior to the archiving date and the end date is after the archiving date will not qualify to be archived.
  • Claim, Membership, Affiliations and Benefits archives should be planned to run closely together.

Reports:

The provider affiliation archiving process includes a series of reports that can be used to analyze the data that was extracted and allow the health plan to audit the results. Archives can be run in report mode prior to actually deleting the records from the production account. If the data reported does not look correct, the process can be stopped and evaluated prior to running the job in update mode.

InvoiceIcon2AMISYS A/R: Used to selectively remove historical Billing and Accounts Receivable data from AMISYS Advance, the A/R archiving module archives to an Oracle database and includes processes to de-archive data from archives back to production.

Learn More About A/R Archiving

“We were at a point where we could not even run an ad hoc aging analysis, archiving allowed us to remove our invoice and receipt history.”
Designed by DST and built by Taurus Software, A/R Archiving uses Taurus’s DataBridger product to selectively remove historical billing and A/R data from AMISYS Advance. Data is archived to an Oracle database and includes processes to de-archive records from archives back to production.

How it works:

A/R Archiving includes a flexible method to selectively remove historical Billing and Accounts Receivable data from AMISYS.

Users are able to specify specific archive parameters such as:

  • Prior to Date (archive prior to this date)
  • Account status, allowing selection of active, terminated or all accounts.
  • Account level (corporate, group, division or individual).
  • Select for specific accounts or all accounts that meet selection criteria.
  • Select accounts that should be excluded from archive process.
  • Running archive in report mode creates output reports to pre-view re-archive.
  • Delete or not delete data from production

Reports may also be generated to identify invoices that meet cutoff date criteria but do not have a zero net balance, or cash receipts that have not been fully applied, which would preclude them from archive selection.

Restoral of archived data to production may also be done. Records will be restored to production based on user defined parameters.

Reports:

The A/R archiving process includes a series of reports that can be used to analyze the data that was extracted and allow the health plan to audit the results.  Archives can be run in report mode prior to actually deleting the records from the production account.  If the data reported does not look correct, the process can be stopped and evaluated prior to running the job in update mode.
